Looking for how to use your planner beyond just the decorative? I created a YouTube channel late 2017 when I discovered that many of the planning videos that I was watching were more about decorating and less about actually using the planner. They would lay down all the decorations and end the video before they wrote down their plans. I’ve always been “the organized one”, even back to childhood, so I felt I could contribute to the idea of functional planning to those who want to learn how to plan and use their planner better. I’ve now added this blog because sometimes I have more to add that just doesn’t fit in a video format.
My Story
Hi, I’m Kendra. I’m a life-long student and learner of new things and an admirer/adopter of life skills that don’t seem to be taught or practiced much anymore. I’ve been a follower of David Allen’s Getting Things Done since the early 2000’s, and am constantly in pursuit of increasing not just my own productivity and efficiency, but also making sure that I’m being effective. I’ve found that it’s allowed me to pursue my many interests while not dropping (as many of) balls that I’m keeping in the air.
Professionally, I am a CFO and owner of a property management company, have a contractor’s license, and have a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a master’s degree in management information systems, both from Texas A&M University. I teach designation classes in human resources, finance, and risk management for the local apartment association. My creative side is soothed by sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, photography, music-making, and dancing. Other than that? Cradle Episcopalian. Spiritual mutt. Saved by grace. I like to think I am on a journey to being a polymath, a renaissance woman.
Skills I still want to learn? Car and engine maintenance. Woodworking. Cabinetmaking. Flower arranging. And many, many others.
Welcome!
